About the Album

 

This album was my first venture into the recording world and proved to be more demanding and challenging than I initially aticipated. Learning the different aspects and having the opportunity to work with an excellent sound engineer helped make the whole process little less taxing and actually made the whole experience more enjoyable and rewarding.

 

I decided on this group of song as they are stand alone songs and provided the existing popularity to allow me to display primarily my vocal qualities. Performing these songs live is a wonderful experience and capturing that atmosphere and emotion in a recoding studio was the most difficult part of the whole adventure. My own favourite songs on the album are "black is the colour" & "back home in Derry" the lyrics in both these songs play at my heart strings as they reflect ones want a nd desires to be reunited with their love wether a person or place and I think we all can in some way relate to this, some more than others.
